My name is Carter, and RappersIQ was born from a moment most people would’ve folded under. I got kicked out of College. New York University (NYU) to be exact. No warning. No second chance. One day I was working toward a Degree, and the next day, I was being told all of my Aid was being returned because of a technicality and no one would listen . I was standing outside with nothing but my thoughts and a feeling in my chest that said, “Alright… Now What? My Life Is Over!” Most people see that as Failure.

I wasn’t about to let a School decide whether I was “Educated” or Not Anymore. So, I created my own "Graduation Cap" — Literally. I designed the RappersIQ Logo as a Cap I could wear for myself. A reminder that I didn’t need permission to Level Up. I didn’t need a Ceremony to validate my Grind. I could Graduate from my own Hustle. That Logo became my Diploma.

In 2009, RappersIQ launched as a Hip‑Hop Exam, Music Promotion and Entertainment Website — But something happened I didn’t expect: People connected with the Mindset and Mentality behind it. People were asking to Buy clothes, or as I called it, "The Graduation Cap." That’s when I knew RappersIQ wasn’t just a Hip Hop Website . So; Clothing was Added to the Rappers I.Q? Brand.

RappersIQ is for the ones who’ve been through something. The ones who had to teach themselves. The ones who had to earn their stripes In or Outside the System. The ones who know that Intelligence doesn’t always come with a Degree — sometimes it comes from the Streets, the Struggle, and the Scars.
